Saskatchewan Kinsmen Telemiracle

KANATA, ON, March 24, 2009 -- Congratulations to the more than 100 Music for Young Children students and teachers who performed in the Saskatchewan Kinsmen Telemiracle on March 8. I'd also like Bob McGrath with MYC studentsto thank Bob McGrath, one of the original hosts of Sesame Street, who sang with the students. Bob has just celebrated his 38th year as the music teacher on Sesame Street. In his career he has been honored by the National Music Council for his support of music education in the United States. He has been Chairperson of National UNICEF day and served as host at the United Nations celebration for the "Rights of the Child". He served as the annual host for World Children's Day at the UN General Assembly.

According to Bob "Music for Young Children is a fantastic group. If you have any kids in music -- I can't recommend highly enough that they become a part of Music for Young Children. It's a wonderful, wonderful program."

More than $2300 was donated on behalf of the MYC students and teachers. Thank you to Della Roy for coordinating this and a special thanks to the Saskatchewan teachers for all of their hard work in getting this organized.
