Awards for Excellence

KANATA, ON November 20, 2008 -- Sister Lillian Gaudet, an MYC teacher in Nova Scotia, reported that her student Francis Grenier, who wrote his exam in June, won the Silver Medal from Conservatory Canada. Francis had the highest mark in Nova Scotia for Grade 1 Theory with a mark of 90. His mother Norine, now living in France for a year, said "we credit his MYC teacher, Sister Lillian Gaudet, in Antigonish for his success and we look forward to returning to lessons with Sister Lillian.

Molly Drinnan, an MYC graduate in Ottawa, received the Silver Medal for Ontario from the Royal Conservatory of Music for her Grade 1 Vocal exam with a mark of 98. Besides vocal training, Molly also studies piano with MYC teacher Marilee Mansfield in Ottawa. "MYC certainly continues to shine through in our family! Thank you for the most wonderful introduction to music a child could have!", wrote Molly's mother Janine.

British Columbia teacher Tammy Francis' MYC graduate student, Rebecca Benner, has been awarded the Conservatory Canada Medal for Excellence for her Grade 5 Contemporary Idioms exam for the highest mark in B.C.
