Halifax MYC grad a winner on YTV's "The Next Star"

KANATA, ON November 25, 2008 -- His name is Bond, Dunnery Bond, and he is an MYC graduate from Halifax, NS. Dunnery Bond was named champion of the YTV singing show The Next Star in September. (Like a junior Canadian Idol for children up to 15.)

Thousands auditioned across Canada and 12 were chosen to go to Toronto, of which another six spent the summer filming weekly shows. Bond was counselled by professionals on how to tackle every aspect of the music industry. That included getting the right Dunnery Bondlook, to having the single Shy created for him.

His music teacher Kathryn Andrew said Bond "always stood out as a singer in MYC classes. He is now working on his grade 9 piano and accompanies himself amazingly well and has always been a big hit in recitals."

Good luck to Dunnery Bond, we'll be watching for you!
